The present invention provides a spatial flexure comprising: a base section; an end section; and an intermediate laterally contracting and expanding section connecting the base and end sections, whereby when the intermediate section laterally expands or contracts, the end section pivots downwardly or upwardly. The present invention further provides a spatial flexure scanner comprising: a base section; a mirror section; an intermediate laterally contracting and expanding section connecting the base and mirror sections; an actuator associated with the base section; a scan mirror connected to the mirror section; means connecting the actuator and the mirror for causing lateral contraction or expansion of the intermediate section in response to the actuator, whereby when the intermediate section laterally expands or contracts, the mirror section pivots downwardly or upwardly.
La présente invention concerne une flexion spatiale comprenant : une section de base ; une section d'extrémité ; et une section intermédiaire à contraction et détente latérales reliant la section de base à la section d'extrémité, la section d'extrémité pivotant vers le bas ou vers le haut lorsque la section intermédiaire se détend ou se contracte latéralement. La présente invention concerne en outre un scanneur à flexion spatiale comprenant : une section de base ; une section de miroir ; une section intermédiaire à contraction et détente latérales reliant la section de base à la section de miroir ; un actionneur associé à la section de base ; un miroir de balayage relié à la section de miroir ; un moyen reliant l'actionneur au miroir destiné à provoquer la contraction ou la détente latérale de la section intermédiaire en réponse à l'actionneur, la section de miroir pivotant vers le bas ou vers le haut lorsque la section intermédiaire se détend ou se contracte latéralement.
