A transformer (T1) connected to a power source (AC), which consists of a primary coil (16 and 18), a secondary coil and a magnetic core, the secondary coil being configured to provide a regulated DC output (12) voltage and/or current. The primary coil contains two portions, one portion being used to operate the transformer as a low voltage input (16) converter and both portion being used when the transformer is used as a high voltage input (18) converter.

L'invention concerne un transformateur (T1) connecté à une source d'énergie (courant alternatif) constitué d'un enroulement primaire (16 et 18), d'un enroulement secondaire et d'un noyau magnétique, l'enroulement secondaire étant conçu pour fournir une sortie continue régulée de tension et/ou de courant (12). L'enroulement primaire comprend deux parties : une partie sert à faire fonctionner le transformateur comme convertisseur à basse tension (16) tandis que les deux parties sont utilisées lorsque le transformateur fonctionne comme convertisseur à haute tension (18).
