A miniaturized switching power supply has an output circuit for supplying gate drive to a power FET (54). The output cir- cuit incorporates a pair of series connected transistors (44, 46) with a tender diode (52) connected to the base of one of the tran- sistors (44) to limit the gate drive to the FET (54).
