A minimal container (10), made of pre-cut corrugated cardboard strips (12, 14, 16) fastened together at overlapping surfaces and folded to form a rectangular frame, without generating any scrap corrugated cardboard. The Minimal Container (10) is intended to protect contents for one shipping application. Each side (20) and top (22) and bottom ends (24) of the rectangular frame have an open area. Plastic film (18) is wrapped around the Minimal Container (10), enclosing it and being connected to it, not only for dust and weather protection, but also to enhance structural rigidity of the Minimal Container (10). A method of constructing the Minimal Container (10) includes gluing or stapling the corrugated cardboard strips (12, 14, 16) together to form a ladder structure; scoring, slitting, and folding the ladder structure to form the rectangular frame; fastening the rectangular frame together; loading contents into the rectangular frame; enclosing the rectangular frame with a flexible plastic film wrap (18); and connecting the flexible plastic film wrap (18) to the rectangular frame.
Conteneur élémentaire (10) réalisé en bandes de carton gauffré prédécoupées (12, 14, 16) fixées ensemble au niveau des plans de recouvrement et repliées pour constituer un bâti rectangulaire sans génerer aucune chute de carton gauffré. Ce conteneur élémentaire (10) est destiné à protéger son contenu à des fins d'expédition. Chaque côté (20) et, le dessus (22) et le fond (24) de ce bâti rectangulaire comporte une zone ouverte. Un film de plastique (18) est enveloppé autour de ce conteneur élémentaire (10) de manière à l'enfermer en étant plaqué sur lui, non seulement pour le protéger des poussières et des intempéries mais aussi pour renforcer sa rigidité structurale. L'invention porte également sur le procédé de construction de ce conteneur élémentaire (10) qui consiste à encoller ou agraffer les bandes de carton gauffré (12, 14, 16) ensemble de manière à former une structure en échelle; puis à ménager des encoches puis des fentes et des plis dans cette structure en échelle afin d'obtenir un bâti rectangulaire. Ce bâti rectangulaire est ensuite fixé, puis il est chargé avant d'être enveloppé dans un film plastique souple (18), ce film plastique souple étant uni au bâti rectangulaire.
