MINUTIA DATA EXTRACTION IN FINGERPRINT IDENTIFICATION ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus used in a fingerprint identification for extracting minutia data from a fingerprint picture image data includes an optical sensor unit for optically producing a sequence of fingerprint picture data during one pressing down operation of a fingerpad onto an inspection plate; and a data storing unit for storing the produced fingerprint picture image data in the form of a sequence of fingerprint picture image data obtained during one pressing down operation of the fingerpad onto the inspection plate. The stored fingerprint picture image data is able to be utilized for a fingerprint identification.
