The present invention relates to a mirror control device used for a scanner or an optical switch for communication. A mirror is pivotally supported and a plurality of electrodes are spaced apart from the mirror. A driving voltage applying means generates an AC voltage as a driving voltage in accordance with a desired tilt angle of the mirror. The driving voltage is applied to each electrode so as to generate at least a first section where a potential difference between the mirror and the electrode to which the driving voltage is applied is positive and a second section where the potential difference between the mirror and the electrode to which the driving voltage is applied is negative.
