A missile (20) has a non-cylindrical fuselage (22b) over at least a portion of its length, with a non-cylindrical propulsion system (34) contained within the non-cylindrical portion (22b) of the fuselage. The fuselage (22b) and propulsion system (34) are preferably generally elliptical in cross section, with a dimensional ratio of the major axis to the minor axis of from more than 1:1 to about 1.5:1. The missile (20) further includes a guidance system (38) and control features (32).
