IN THE PATENT OFFICE PATENT APPLICATION entitled "IMPROVEMENTS IN MIXED HEPARIN SALTS" in the names of Jean CHOAY, Jean GOULAY and Jean-Louis AMIOT ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method is provided for manufacturing simple heparin salts containing cations of metals other than sodium, or mixed heparin salts. The method comprises contacting a simple heparin salt in a first phase with a salt of the metal to be substituted for the metal in the initial heparin salt, and subjecting the medium to at least one cycle which comprises separating the metal ions liberated from the resulting heparinate and recon- tacting the resulting heparinate with the salt contain- ing the substituting metal.
