A regulating unit for a hot and cold water mixing valve includes a pressure responsive part having a piston slide (60), and a temperature responsive part which is influenced by a thermostat (45) and which includes a regulating valve body (50) which is axially moveable and optionally included in an insert which can be screwed into the mixing valve. The regulating valve body (50) and the piston slide (60) are mutually concentrical and one of these two components is received at least partially in the other.
