ABSTRACT A mixing valve assembly for coupling to a household appliance has a casing assembly with a valve cartridge and an insert mounted thereto. The insert has hot and cold water passageways for coupling to hot and cold water conduits, and a water outlet passageway, at least one water passageway for coupling to a house- hold appliance. The assembly also has a check valve mounted to the insert and an actuating member disposed at the periphery of the mixing valve which is operably coupled to the check valve to shift the check valve from a closed to an open position to supply water to the appliance.
