The invention relates to a mixture containing rare earths. The aim of the invention is to provide neutron-activated radioactive materials that are easy to produce and handle and that can be used for a wide range of different applications. To this end, a homogeneously, finely dispersed mixture of thulium oxide and a matrix material is provided.
