Polyenv vaccines are provided that comprise mixtures of at least 4 to about 10.000 different recombinant viruses that each express a different HIV env variant or a portion thereof containing both constant and variable regions, as well as methods of making and using such polyenv vaccines and viruses, including the use of the polyenv vaccine, in live, attenuated or inactivated form, for prophylaxis or treatment of HIV infection. The viral vaccines of the invention are optimally combined with a recombinant HIV env booster, or a recombinant HIV env gene DNA priming or boosting vaccine.
L'invention concerne des vaccins polyenv comprenant des mélanges d'au moins 4 à environ 10000 virus de recombinaison différents qui expriment chacun un variant env différent du VIH ou une partie de ce variant contenant des régions à la fois constantes et variables. L'invention concerne également des procédés de fabrication et d'utilisation de ces vaccins polyenv et virus, ainsi que l'utilisation du vaccin polyenv, sous forme vivante, atténuée ou inactivée, dans la prophylaxie ou le traitement des infections à VIH. Les vaccins viraux de l'invention sont combinés de manière optimale à un agent renforçateur env du VIH de recombinaison ou à un premier vaccin ou un rappel à ADN renfermant le gène env du VIH de recombinaison.
