MIXTURES INCLUDING POLYPHENYLENE ETHERS AND LACTAMS AND RESINOUS COMPOSITIONS PREPARED THEREFROM ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Mixtures of polyphenylene ethers, lactams such as .epsilon.-caprolactam and lactam polymerization catalysts, prefer- ably basic reagents, may be polymerized. There is prefer- ably also present a lactam polymerization promoter, especi- ally a functionalized polyphenylene ether. Polymerization produces resinous compositions including phenylene ether- amide copolymers, especially block and/or graft copolymers. Said resinous compositions may be molded into articles hav- ing a number of advantageous properties.
