MIXTURES OF FATTY AMINES FROM POLYOXYALKYLENEAMINES (D#80,706-F) Abstract of the Disclosure Novel fatty amines, amides and salts thereof may be made from the reaction of polyoxyalkylenepolyamine residues with fatty acids and/or fatty acid esters under relatively mild reaction conditions in the absence of a catalyst. Remarkably, the residues or bottoms products from the synthesis of poly- oxyalkylenepolyamines, such as triethylene glycol diamine and tetraethylene glycol diamine, also known as JEFFAMINE? EDR amines, may be reacted with the fatty acids and/or fatty acid esters to give materials useful in corrosion inhibitors, pigment wetting agents, mineral flotation and flocculation aids, asphalt emulsifiers, surfactants, detergents, petroleum additives, etc.
