ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A mobile air treatment device of the present inven- tion provides a compact mobile unit capable of providing a sufficiently high degree of air cleaning and filtering to permit air to be returned to atmosphere within a building within which a job site is housed. The device consists of an enclosure having first, second, third and fourth compart- ments formed therein and serially connected to one another to permit an air stream to flow through the compartments in sequence. An input passage opens into the first compartment through which contaminated air is admitted. A cyclone separator is located in the first compartment and serves to remove coarse particulate matter. An electrically acti- vated precipitator is located in the second compartment and is operable to effect precipitation of particulate material from the air stream as it passes through the second compart- ment. A series of supports are provided in the third compart- ment for removably supporting a plurality of filter elements. A discharge passage opens outwardly from the fourth compartment and a fan is located in the fourth compartment which is oper- able to draw contaminated air into the input passage and to cause air to stream through the first, second and third com- partments in series and to discharge through the outlet passage.
