ABSTRACT A mobile fluid purification unit (1) comprises a plurality of treatment tanks (4, 5, 6) mounted on a skid (2) and interconnected by hoses (32, 32A, 32B, 42A, 42B, 44) for series flow, parallel flow or a combination of series and parallel flow for carrying out a variety of treatments of the liquid. A plurality of such mobile units (1) can be mounted on a larger vehicle (22) and connected to one another by one or several hoses (32, 32A, 32B, 42A, 42B, 44) to provide greater capacity and variety than is possible in a single mobile unit (1). A cover (120) which may include a heater (124) can be provided for the unit or units (1).
