Abstract of the Disclosure A mobile machine mounted on a track for advancement therealong for removing irregularities from the surfaces of the rail heads comprises a machine frame, a tool carrier vertically adjustably mounted on the machine frame and arranged thereon for guidance along a respective track rail, and a cutter head on the tool carrier. The cutter head has a cutting tool capable of machining the surface of the head of the respective track rail contin- uously upon advance of the tool carrier along the track rail.
