The invention concerns a mobile telephone system wherein a plurality of proximal terminals (BAi, BBi) are spatially distributed to enable wireless communication with portable user stations over a wide geographical coverage. On the other hand, a central management station (100) relays user communications passing through said proximal terminals to a telephone network, and records the call charge rates, on behalf of an operator. At least one terminal is designed such that it covers substantially exactly the selected perimeter (P). The processing of at least one application associated with the calls, for example the call charge rates, is modulated on the basis of said calls passing through the designed terminal.

Une pluralité de bornes proximales (BAi, BBi) sont distribuées spatialement pour permettre la communication sans fil avec des postes portatifs d'usager selon une couverture géographique étendue. De son côté, une station de gestion centrale (100) relaye les communications d'usagers passant par lesdites bornes proximales vers un réseau téléphonique, et enregistre la tarification des appels émanant desdits usagers, au profit d'un exploitant. Au moins une borne est agencée de façon qu'elle couvre sensiblement exactement un périmètre choisi (P). Le traitement d'au moins une application associée aux appels, par exemple la tarification des appels, est modulé en fonction du passage de ces appels par la borne ainsi agencée.
