An impregnation process is employed in a system (30) using a sequence of mobile impregnation processing vessels (31) which are transported to a series of processing stations (36, 38, 40, 42), each of which performs a specific step in an impregnation process. At least one porous article (2) is retained in each of said vessels (31) along with a flowable impregnating composition (33) therein. The vessels (31) are sequentially directed along with the porous articles (2) and flowable composition (33) therein to at least one selected station (36, 38, 40, 42) chosen from a series of stations. Such processing stations (36, 38, 40, 42) can include a vacuum station (36); a pressurization station (38); an independent impregnant retrieval system (40) in which residual impregnant is retrieved; and a centrifuging station (42) for removing excess impregnant. A de-aeration system (34) can also be provided to de-aerate the composition (33) prior to use.
Cette invention concerne un procédé et un système d'imprégnation (30) dans lesquels une série de récipients mobiles (31) parcourt une série de stations de traitement (36, 38, 40, 42) qui s'acquittent chacune d'une opération d'imprégnation spécifique. Chacun desdits récipients (31) renferme au moins un article poreux (2) ainsi qu'une composition d'imprégnation fluide (33). Ces récipients et leur contenu sont acheminés séquentiellement jusqu'à au moins une station (36, 38, 40, 42) choisie dans une série de stations. Des fonctions différentes peuvent être dévolues aux diverses stations (36, 38, 40, 42): mise sous vide (36); pressurisation (38) des articles poreux; récupération distincte du produit d'imprégnation (40) au cours de laquelle le produit d'imprégnation résiduel est récupéré; centrifugation (42) destinée à faire disparaître l'excès de produit d'imprégnation de la surface extérieure des articles. A cela peut s'ajouter un système de désaération (34) destiné à désaérer la composition (33) avant emploi.
