The invention concerns mobility management interworking between a C-interface radio system and an overlay mobile radio network. Inthe first embodiment the radio system uses NCAS signalling and communicates with the SCP using the MMAP protocol. The SCP then makes the conversion to traditional MAP protocol when necessary to communicate with other network entities. The SCP takes care of the interworking between these transactions. In the second embodiment the SCP only relays the MAP operations embedded into TCAP messages transparently between the radio system RS and the overlay network element when the communication takes place between the RS and the overlay network. Thus the transaction is between the RS and the overlay network element. A Relay Protocol is needed between the RS and the SCP to carry the appropriate address information and to discriminate between the transparent MAP operations and non- transparent MMAP operations.

L'invention concerne un interfonctionnement de gestion de mobilité entre un système de radiocommunications à interface C et un réseau mobile de radiocommunications comportant des segments de recouvrement. Dans le premier mode de réalisation, le système de radiocommunications utilise une signalisation NCAS et communique avec le SCP au moyen du protocole NMAP. Le SCP effectue ensuite la conversion vers le protocole MAP classique quand il est nécessaire de communiquer avec d'autres entités du réseau. Le SCP prend en charge l'interfonctionnement entre ces transactions. Dans le deuxième mode de réalisation, le SCP sert uniquement de relais aux opérations de MAP contenues dans des messages TCAP de façon transparente entre le système de radiocommunications RS et l'élément de réseau à segments de recouvrement, quand la communication a lieu entre le RS et le réseau à segments de recouvrement. De ce fait, la transaction s'effecture entre le RS et l'élément de réseau à segments de recouvrement. Un protocole de relais est nécessaire entre le RS et le SCP afin de porter les informations d'adresse adéquates et d'établir la différence entre les opérations de MAP transparentes et les opérations de NMAP non transparentes.
