ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The objective of the invention is to modify the reflection of a radar wave ?? ? metal target object, by modifying the radar scattering cross-section of the object. In some cases, such as an enemy aircraft, it will be desired to make the target appear smaller, while in other cases, such as navigation beacons, it will be desired to make the target appear larger. The target is provided with a screen or layer of dielectric material conforming with the general shape of the body, and mounting that screen or layer on the outer side of the body in spaced relationship thereto. As a result, an incident pulse will pass through the screen or layer before impinging on the body and the consequent reflected or reradiated radar pulse will emerge from said layer in a diffuse or scattered manner.
