The invention concerns a process for the production of a surface coating as well as the use of surface coatings to increase the surface tension of objects, which is characterized in that the surface coating is obtained by depositing a layer of at least one element that can be oxidized with water or an alloy that can be oxidized with water and subsequent action of boiling water or water vapour on the deposited layer.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour produire un revêtement de surface, ainsi que l'utilisation de revêtements de surface pour accroître la tension de surface d'objets, caractérisé en ce que le revêtement de surface s'obtient par dépôt d'une couche d'au moins un élément oxydable à l'eau ou bien d'un alliage oxydable à l'eau, suivi du traitement de cette couche avec de l'eau bouillante ou de la vapeur d'eau.
