ABSTRACT Modified advanced epoxy resins are prepared by reacting (A) an advanced epoxy reqin prepared by reacting (1) an epoxy resin having at least one aromatic ring, an average of more than one, but not more than 2 vicinal epoxy groupq per molecule and which containg at least one oxyalkylene or substituted oxyalkylene group per molecule; with (2) a dihydric phenol; with (B) a phosphorus-containing compound.
