O9/DJP5 18117 TITLE OF THE INVENTION MODIFIED BETA ADRENERGIC RECEPTOR ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A Modified Beta Adrenergic Receptor having the amino acid residue in position 113 (aspartic acid) substituted by a serine residue has been synthesized. This modified receptor interacts with novel ligands that do not react with the natural Asp 113 containing receptor. Transgenic animals containing this modified receptor will respond to novel ligands which will not interact with the normal receptor.
