The invention relates to a novel book cover which is used together with the known firm bindings, that is U-shaped steel bars. According to the invention, a flexible support material (6) is arranged in two layers (7) and (8) in parallel to the flanks (2) of a U-shaped bar (1). The layers of the book cover that are in parallel to the flanks (2) are intimately glued together except for a flexible connection of two layers, that is either the support material (6) is flexibly arranged in relation to its two layers (7, 8) or - as shown in figure 1 - the inner surface (3) of the flank (2) is flexibly arranged in relation to the layer (7). The resin layer (19) usually fixes the leaves (19), said resin layer being applied on the transversal insert (9) of the support material (6). Said transversal insert (9) rests against the base (5) of the U-shaped bar (1), that is it is not firmly linked with it, when the book is closed. When the book is opened, the bound leaves (19) are vertically moved, thereby allowing the leaves to be turned so that they lie flat
L'invention concerne une nouvelle reliure utilisant les reliures fixes connues, c'est-à-dire des rails d'acier profilés en U. Selon l'invention, on place un matériau support souple (6) en deux couches (7) et (8) parallèlement aux flancs (2) d'un profilé en U (1). Les couches parallèles aux flancs (2) dans la reliure sont collées de manière fixe entre elles, à l'exception d'une liaison mobile de deux couches l'une à l'autre. Ainsi, soit les deux couches (7, 8) du matériau support (6) sont disposées mobiles l'une par rapport à l'autre, soit - comme représenté en figure 1 - la face interne (3) du flanc (2) est disposée mobile par rapport à la couche (7). La couche de résine (13) appliquée sur l'armature transversale (9) du matériau support (6) maintient normalement les feuilles (19). Lorsque le livre est fermé, l'armature transversale (9) se trouve sur le fond (5) du profilé en U (1); elle n'est donc pas reliée de manière fixe. Lorsqu'on ouvre le livre, il y a mouvement vertical des feuilles reliées (19), entraînant une ouverture à plat des feuilles.
