A condensation unit haying a peripheral wall defining an open central chamber. The peripheral wall extends circumferentially in a sinusoidal pattern to define a plurality of circumferentially spaced cooling chambers extending radially outwardly from the central chamber for facilitating heat transfer with the ambient. Vapour introduced into the central chamber has unobstructed access to the cooling chambers to promote condensation of the vapor into a liquid. The condensation tank may be located remotely from a storage tank, whether above or below ground, or mar be mounted directly onto the storage tank. Where the condensation unit and storage tank are integral, the vapour may optionally be first introduced into the storage tank and allowed to migrate to the condensation unit to increase condensation capacity. Optionally, a cooling jacket may surround the peripheral wall to hold a cooling medium for added condensing effectiveness.

Unité de condensation dont la paroi périphérique délimite une chambre centrale ouverte. La paroi périphérique circonférentielle de la chambre est de forme sinusoïdale pour délimiter une série de chambres de refroidissement espacées circonférentiellement qui s'étendent vers l'extérieur à partir de la chambre centrale pour accroître les échanges de chaleur avec l'atmosphère ambiante. De la vapeur introduite dans la chambre centrale circule librement dans les chambres de refroidissement pour favoriser la condensation de la vapeur en un liquide. Le réservoir de condensation peut être situé à distance d'un réservoir de stockage, au-dessus ou au- dessous du sol, ou bien monté directement sur le réservoir de stockage. Dans les applications où l'unité de condensation est intégrée à un réservoir de stockage, on peut choisir d'injecter la vapeur dans le réservoir de stockage, d'où elle migre dans l'unité de condensation qui sert alors à augmenter la capacité de condensation. Dans une variante, la paroi périphérique de l'unité de condensation peut être entourée d'une chemise de refroidissement contenant un milieu de refroidissement qui accroît l'efficacité de la condensation.
