TITLE MODIFIED HYDROPHILIC POLYESTERS ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A hydrophilic copolyester containing both polyoxyethylene diester and alkylene diester segments, and optionally containing other components, which copolyester has been modified after being formed by reaction with one or more polyols containing three or more hydroxy groups or one or more polyoxyethylene glycols or a mixture of one or more of such polyols and one or more of such glycols. The copolyester can be used in treating fibers and films.
