2072878 9207887 PCTABS00013 A modified propylene polymer having an average number of graft chains of 1 to 10 per molecule of propylene polymer, a weight-average degree of polymerization of the graft chain of 1 to 100 and a weight-average molecular weight of 1,000 to 500,000, said modified polymer being produced by the graft copolymerization of a propylene polymer with a specified amount of a combination of specified monomers selected among styrenic monomers, amine monomers and aminated styrenic monomers; and a thermoplastic resin composition comprising said modified polymer and a polyphenylene ether modified with a compound having a functional group which can react with an amino group. The modified propylene polymer is excellent in coatability, antistatic property and mechanical properties and is useful as a molding and an alloying agent for polymers, while the thermoplastic resin composition is excellent in strength and heat resistance.
