The present invention is a novel class of compounds useful in thermally- responsive record material of the type comprising a substrate having provided thereon in substantially contiguous relationship an electron donating dye precursor, and an acidic developer material. The novel compound of the invention is a compound of the formula (I), wherein P is selected from (II) and (III) wherein R~1? is selected from hydrogen, alkoxy, and aralkoxy; wherein R~2? is aralkoxyalkoxy when P is phenyl, and R~2? is selected from aralkoxyalkoxy or alkoxyalkoxy when P is naphthyl. Said alkyl moieties are each independently from one to eight carbons, said aryl moieties each independently being unsubstituted or substituted by alkyl (C~1?-C~8?), alkoxy (C~1?-C~8?) or halogen. The compounds of the invention enable manufacture of thermally responsive record material of the invention having the unexpected and remarkable properties of enhanced image intensity or density, and/or improved thermal response. The compounds of the invention also find use in diverse applications such as emolients and softening agents for creams, lots and cosmetics.
La présente invention concerne une nouvelle classe de composés utilisés dans un matériel d'enregistrement thermosensible pourvu d'un substrat comprenant un précurseur de colorant donneur d'électrons et une matière de développement acide sensiblement adjacents. Le nouveau composé de l'invention est un composé représenté par la formule (I) dans laquelle P est sélectionné dans (II) et (III), R>1< étant sélectionné parmi hydrogène, alkoxy, et aralkoxy, et R>2< étant aralkoxyalkoxy lorsque P est phényle, et R>2< étant sélectionné parmi aralkoxyalkoxy ou alkoxyalkoxy lorsque P est naphthyle. Lesdits fragments d'alkyle sont chacun indépendamment formés de un à huit carbones, et indépendamment non substitués ou substitués par alkyle (C>1<-C>8<), alkoxy (C>1<-C>8<) ou halogène. Les composés de l'invention permettent de fabriquer le matériel d'enregistrement thermosensible de l'invention, qui possède des propriétés inattendues et appréciables d'intensité et de densité d'image perfectionnées, et/ou une meilleure réponse thermique. Les composés de l'invention sont également utilisés dans diverses applications telles que les émollients et les agents adoucissants pour crèmes, lotions et cosmétiques.
