Abstract of the Disclosure MODIFIER FOR LITHIUM CATALYSTS It has been determined that 1,2,3-trialkoxybenzenes and 1,2,4-trialkoxybenzenes can be utilized in order to increase the vinyl content of polydienes which are prepared utilizing lithium catalyst systems. For instance, it has been determined that 1,2,3-trimethoxybenzene and 1,2,4-trimethoxybenzene are very strong modifiers for utilization in such polymerizations. The utilization of the trialkoxybenzene modifiers of the present invention is highly advantageous because they promote fast polymerization rates and can be used to produce polymers having high vinyl contents.
