Some embodiments of the present invention disclose a shelving system (20) having one or more support posts (24) with a plurality of shelf connectors (44) connected to the side of the support post (24). The connectors (44) can be rigidly secured to the posts (24) and/or can extend through the post and have a portion protruding from both lateral sides of the post (24). One or more shelves (64) can attach to one or more of the shelf connectors (44) at a variety of heights and extend in a variety of directions with respect to the support post (24). These shelves (64) can have a plurality of fingers (100) for connection with laterally-extending support pins (44) mounted to the support posts (24). Some embodiments also employ shelf brackets having bearing surfaces to distribute load from the shelves (64) to the vertical support posts (24).
