2111833 9300524 PCTABS00019 In a disc brake a cordal type carrier (30) having inboard (32), outboard (34), and circumferentially spaced apart sides (36; 38) is mounted slidably by pins (22, 28) on the support member (12). One (22) of the pins (22, 28) has a larger diameter than the other (28), and the smaller diameter pin (28) has disposed thereabout an axially extending and slidable sleeve member (26). The axially extending sleeve member (26) receives the smaller pin (28) within an eccentrically aligned through opening (27). The carrier (30) includes a central, axially extending opening (40) with laterally extending axial rails (37, 39) at each circumferential side of the opening (40). The piston housing and the brake pads are provided with recesses (62, 64; 75, 77) to permit said housing and pads to slide upon the rails (37, 39).
