A power supply for producing a high voltage DC output. The power supply comprises a primary winding and a series of secondary stages each having secondary windings coupled to the primary winding through a magnetic circuit. Each secondary stage comprises a printed circuit board with the secondary windings formed as a series of independent coils or turns on the board substrate. The magnetic circuit comprises a series of segments which are separated by an insulating film to maintain each segment at the same potential as the associated printed circuit board. Each coil includes a rectifier element for converting the induced AC voltage into a DC voltage. The rectifier elements are connected in series and the printed circuit boards are coupled to produce a high level DC voltage output signal for example, a minimum 200 kV output. To compensate for Magneto Motive Force (MMF) losses through the insulating film, the rectifier elements include a compensation capacitor.

L'invention concerne une alimentation électrique destinée à produire une sortie en courant continu haute tension. Cette alimentation électrique comprend un enroulement primaire et une série d'étages secondaires comportant chacun des enroulements secondaires couplés à l'enroulement primaire par un circuit magnétique. Chaque étage secondaire comprend une carte imprimée, les enroulements secondaires étant constitués d'une série de bobines ou de spires indépendantes formée sur le substrat de la carte. Le circuit magnétique comprend une série de segments séparés par un film isolant destiné à maintenir chaque segment au même potentiel que la carte imprimée associée. Chaque bobine comprend un redresseur permettant de transformer la tension en courant alternatif en une tension en courant continu. Ces redresseurs sont montés en série et les cartes imprimées sont couplées de manière à produire un signal de sortie en tension courant continu de forte puissance, par exemple, une sortie de 200 kV minimum. Afin de compenser les pertes de forces magnétomotrices au travers du film isolant, les redresseurs comportent un condensateur de compensation.
