ABSTRACT This disclosure relates to railroad grade crossings and relates particularly to modules for use in connection therefor which are adapted to be installed directly on the ties of a rail- road crossing, said modules being adapted to be secured together in position by the driving of lag screws or the like through openings in said modules and into the ties. The modules are preferably formed of linear high-density polyethylene or semi- rigid material and are utilized for surfacing high traffic inter- sections across railroads and plant and warehouse properties. The modules are centered between rails and positioned on either side thereof, and in the event of failure or destruction of any module, replacement modules may be readily installed in place thereof, and said modules may be easily removed for track work and such easy reapplication is a primary advantage. -2-
