In the building and construction trade it is common to have a finished concrete floor over which one desires to place an insulated sub-floor. At present this subfloor is constructed by first laying a moisture barrier over the floor, by then framing the concrete floor, by then laying insulation down between the frames, and by then covering the framing with plywood or other wood sheeting. This method is labour intensive, and the materials required are costly. In this invention, the subfloor is made of prefabricated modular panels, ideally 8 foot by 4 foot, or 4 foot by 4 foot, or 2 foot by 8 foot in size, made of plywood or other suitable material, and with insulation, applied to the underside. The panel is raised by a perimeter frame and centred supports. The panels can be designed to interlock with one another. The subfloor is easily installed by laying the panels over the moisture barrier on the concrete floor side by side and end to end and affixing together and to the concrete floor beneath. The subfloor panels can be cut to size to fit the room' s perimeter.
