A supporting structure (10) is comprised by a plurality of elongated base structural members (12, 12) each having first and second ends defining the length thereof and each base structural member being defined in part by a hollow tubular portion (34) extending coextensively therewith. The hollow tubular portions (34) each have a given width defined by opposed transverse sides. A plurality of bracing members (16, 16) are provided and each have first and second ends which define the length thereof. Attachment means (32, 32) are formed on the first and second ends of the bracing members (16, 16) for engaging with a surface on one of the plurality of elongated base structural members (12) to effect a connection therebetween. Each of the plurality of elongated base structural members have a keyhole slot (48) formed in the transverse sides thereof.

Cette invention concerne une charpente (10) composée d'une pluralité d'éléments porteurs de base (12, 12) allongés qui ont chacun une première et une seconde extrémité délimitant la longueur dudit élément et qui sont chacun en partie définis par une partie tubulaire (34) creuse disposée suivant toute la longueur dudit élément. Chacune des parties tubulaires creuses (34) a une largeur donnée délimitée par des côtés transversaux opposés. On dispose d'une pluralité d'éléments diagonaux de charpente (16, 16) qui ont chacun une première et une seconde extrémités qui délimitent leur longueur. Des dispositifs de fixation (32, 32) sont formés au niveau des première et seconde extrémités des éléments diagonaux de charpente (16, 16) pour permettre le contact avec une surface appartenant à l'un des éléments porteurs de base (12) allongés, ce qui permet d'établir la liaison entre éléments porteurs et éléments diagonaux de charpente. Chacun des éléments porteurs de base allongés possède une fente en forme de trou de serrure (48) ménagée dans chacun des côtés transversaux dudit élément.
