Intelligent network platforms (20,22,24) are highly flexible and modular systems that may comprise a system control module (56), an administrative control module (50), a real time module (52), an interface module (44), a switch module (46), a service module (48), and a power module (54) coupled together by a multichannel bus (36). The intelligent network platforms (20,22,24) may interface with intelligent pay telephones (150) to process call traffic through the network (10).
