There is disclosed drug candidate screening assays, diagnostic assays, and therapeutic methods for tumor suppression and the treatment of cancer, including modulating induction of neuroendocrine differentiation in cancer cells, utilizing a novel IGFBP-rP1 interacting protein called P25.1 as the intervention target. The present invention further provides a P25.1 cDNA sequence, a P25.1 polypeptide and fragments thereof, an anti-P25.1 antibody, and anti-25.1 antisense oligonucleotides.

L'invention concerne des analyses par criblage de médicaments candidats, des analyses diagnostiques et des méthodes thérapeutiques destinées à la suppression de tumeurs et au traitement du cancer. Ces méthodes consistent à moduler l'induction de la différenciation neuroendocrinienne dans des cellules cancéreuses en utilisant une nouvelle protéine interagissant avec IGFBP-rP1, appelée P25.1, comme cible d'intervention. La présente invention concerne également une séquence d'ADN complémentaire de P25.1, un polypeptide de P25.1 et des fragments desdits composés, un anticorps dirigé contre P25.1 et des oligonucléotides antisens dirigés contre P25.1.
