A rack for electronic modules has a special routing module besides conventional electronic modules. The modules are detachably connected to the routing module by identical bundles of optical fibres and multiple plugs. Devices located outside the rack for the electronic modules are connected to the routing module. The connections between the electronic modules on the one hand and between the electronic modules and devices located externally to the rack on the other hand are established through the routing module.
