The invention relates to a moistening arrangement of a multiple-nip calender (1), by means of which a fibre web (W) to be calendered in a multiple-nip calender is moistened, the multiple-nip calender comprising a set of rolls (2) with roll nips (N) between the rolls, at least one of the rolls being a reversing nip and the moistening arrangement including a roll means (3) for moistening the fibre web. The roll means is located in a pocket (7) adjacent to the line (L) of the aligned set of rolls, the pocket being formed by a space defined by the fibre web (W), one idle roll (5) in the set of rolls and said roll means (3), the fibre web contacting said roll in the set of rolls at two locations, in roll nips located on opposite sides of the roll mantle when viewed from the longitudinal axis of the roll, and circulating around the roll means (3). The fibre web (W) contacts said roll in the set of rolls preferably in the roll nip immediately preceding the reversing nip (N;N3). The roll means (3) comprises a damping unit (33) and rolls (32) guiding the fibre web (W) relative to the damping unit.

L'invention concerne un ensemble d'humidification d'une calandre à plusieurs lignes de contact (1), au moyen duquel une bande fibreuse (W) à calandrer est humidifiée, ladite calandre comprenant un groupe de rouleaux (2) présentant des lignes de contact (N). Au moins un des rouleaux présente une ligne de contact d'inversion. L'ensemble d'humidification comporte un ensemble rouleau (3) servant à humidifier la bande fibreuse. Cet ensemble rouleau est situé dans une poche (7) adjacente à la ligne (L) formée par le groupe de rouleaux alignés, ladite poche étant formée par un espace défini par la bande fibreuse (W), un rouleau libre (5) faisant partie du groupe de rouleaux et ledit ensemble rouleau (3). La bande fibreuse vient en contact avec ledit rouleau libre en deux points, au niveau de lignes de contact situées sur des côtés opposés de l'enveloppe de rouleau, vu à partir de l'axe longitudinal dudit rouleau, et circule autour dudit ensemble rouleau (3). La bande fibreuse (W) vient en contact avec ledit rouleau libre de préférence au niveau de la ligne de contact située immédiatement avant la ligne de contact d'inversion (N;N3). L'ensemble rouleau (3) comprend une unité d'amortissement (33) et des rouleaux (32) qui guident la bande fibreuse (W) par rapport à l'unité d'amortissement.
