Moisture management systems and methods are provided for managing moisture in a vicinity of an opening in a building wall. Such systems comprise a sill pan mountable in the building wall atop a horizontally-extending lower frame member of the opening. The sill pan may include: a base section having an upper surface which slopes downwardly and outwardly from a location interior to a lower flange portion of a window frame to an interstitial space between a sheathing layer of the building wall and an external building wall layer for directing moisture received thereon toward the interstitial space; and a plurality of transversely spaced-apart window-support members having upper surfaces located above the upper surface of the base section and oriented substantially horizontally for receiving a lower portion of the window frame. Such systems also comprise a lower vent mountable in the building wall outwardly of the sill pan. The lower vent may include: a vent component which defines a plurality of apertures that provide fluid communication between an exterior of the building wall and the interstitial space; and a hood shaped to extend downwardly and outwardly from a location above the apertures in the vent component and interior to the exterior building wall layer to a location external to the building wall.
La présente invention concerne des systèmes et des méthodes de gestion de la teneur en humidité à proximité d'une ouverture dans le mur d'un immeuble. Ces systèmes comprennent un plateau- solin pouvant être monté dans un mur d'immeuble, sur un élément de cadre inférieur de l'ouverture s'étendant à l'horizontale. Le plateau-solin peut comprendre les éléments suivants : une base munie d'une surface supérieure qui s'incline vers le bas et l'extérieur à partir d'un emplacement intérieur en direction d'une saillie inférieure d'un cadre de fenêtre, jusqu'à un interstice situé entre une couche de revêtement mural du mur de l'immeuble et une couche extérieure du mur de l'immeuble, pour diriger l'humidité qui y est reçue vers l'interstice; une série de supports de fenêtre espacés sur le plan transversal, qui sont munis de surfaces supérieures situées au-dessus de la surface supérieure de la base, et orientée essentiellement à l'horizontale pour recevoir la partie inférieure du cadre de fenêtre. De tels systèmes comportent également une mise à l'air libre inférieure pouvant être montée sur le mur de l'immeuble, vers l'extérieur du plateau-solin. Cette mise à l'air libre peut comprendre les éléments suivants, la mise à l'air libre proprement dite, qui forme une série d'ouverture qui assurent une communication fluidique entre l'extérieur du mur de l'immeuble et l'interstice, ainsi qu'une hotte formée de façon à se prolonger vers le bas et vers l'extérieur à partir d'un emplacement au- dessus des ouvertures de la mise à l'air libre, et à l'intérieur de la couche de revêtement extérieur du mur de l'immeuble, vers un endroit hors du mur dudit immeuble.
