A mold (10, 20, 30) is disclosed for drying a wet preformed pulp product (M) which is compressed between the mold (10) and a receiving mold (1). The drying mold efficiently transfers heat supplied by a heat source (19, 22, 29) to the wet preformed pulp product (M). The drying mold (10) has a chamber (15). The inside wall of the chamber in covered with a thermal insulating material (18) to ensure efficiently transferred to the preformed pulp product (M).
