ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A mold has two broad side walls opposing each other at a distance and being connected to two narrow walls which oppose each other and are arranged between the side walls. The upper portion of the side walls defines a funnel-shaped casting area whereby the narrow walls are arranged beyond the casting area so that the side walls extend parallel towards the narrow walls at the distance which corresponds to the width of the cast steel.
