ABSTRACT A machine for continuously casting metal features a caterpil- lar type mold with a mold link which bears a plate (5) forming the actual mold workface (6). At least one of the long edges (7) of this plate is chamfered towards the mold workface. As a result thermal expansion occuring during operation of the machine is taken into account so that the work face (6) of the mold is not deformed. (figure 2)
