A mold for use in an injection mold assembly. The mold includes a cast mold member or housing with an internal cooling chamber. The wall has a substantially uniform wall thickness. A central plug is located inside the cooling chamber and is spaced apart from the second side of the wall. A channel is located between the wall and the central plug. The channel extends substantially from one end to the other end of the cooling chamber.
