A molded and undivided medical penetrating device comprises a first portion and a second substantially tubular portion having an outer surface, a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end of the second substantially tubular portion of the device is joined Io and is integral with the first portion of the device and is adapted to be maintained essentially outside a body while the first portion of the device is adapted to jbe retained within the interior of the body.
