ABSTRACT A molded paper clothing of a cast plastic grid with uniform drainage interstics bounded on all four sides by streamlined shaped interstitial edges and a method to produce same is presented. In the machine direction, reinforcing strands are molded into the gridlike clothing, the strands being of synthetic fiber or metal and are choosen to increase tensile strength and wear resistance. The clothing is made into an endless loop and can be used as the support fabric for all sections of a papermaking machine.
