ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A sound box for violin, made of molded plastic, is made of a lower and upper sound board and an intermediate surrounding side- wall sealed together. The sound boards are molded with ribs on their internal surface. The handle is molded with the lower board and ex- tends from a large axial rib on the latter. The handle and the large rib have a core made of hard wood.
