MOLDED TORIC CONTACT LENSES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is disclosed apparatus useful in the manufacture of toric contact lenses and methods utilizing the same in the production of such lenses. The resulting lenses are characterized by cylinder and prism ballast which exhibit significant positional stability in the eye of the wearer. A mold assembly is provided formed of lens-forming mold members, one of which has an optical concave toric molding surface and a principal longitudinal axis of curvature, the other of which has an optical convex molding surface and a principal longitudinal axis of curvature, the two longitudinal axes of curvature forming an angle not exceeding 20 degrees when the mold members are in lens-forming relationship with each other.
