ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A molding machine for molding a hollow tubular member from high molecular weight polyethylene material or other materials having similar properties which render it hard to mold. The machine comprises a tubular die cavity formed between an outer surface of an inner die member and an inner surface of an outer die member. Heaters are connected to the inner and outer die members to heat the cavity inner and outer surfaces. A feeding apparatus feeds the polyethylene material in the die cavity. Support members are provided for maintain- ing the outer surface of the inner die member in substantially fixed spaced-apart relationship to the inner surface of the outer die member. A plunger is reciprocable in the cavity to apply pressure to material fed in the cavity from the extruder to cause extrusion of a tubular polyethylene member from an open end downstream of the cavity.
